I have two of the AJ50 I use in my enclosed trailer and run them off of 8 6-volt batteries with 1400 watts solar. They draw about 3.5 amps each when running.

I was extremely impressed with the unit. I took the cooler into work the following Monday after it arrived and showed it to a couple of co-workers. Expect a few orders in a couple of days from the Hillsboro Ore area. Nuff said.
