Setpower MC20 12 Volt Fridge Electric Cooler for Car or Camping 21Qt

Purchased this 15 qt unit for a camping trip to Oshkosh, it fit in my airplane and with the battery it had 40% left after a 11 hour flight from central Texas. I have a Ecoflow River 2 power station I hooked up to a 120 watt solar panel. The ecoflow charged the setpower battery that was hooked to the Setpower. The battery never dropped below a 100% the whole week while off grid camping under the wing of my plane. The ecoflow would recharge during the day from solar. And at night would keep the setpower battery charged. I had ice cold drinks and sandwich meat. Great little setup

Fridge came in under packed box that FedEx delivered and was damaged in shipping, they haven’t gotten back to me yet on how they plan to handle this issue, but the other issue failed to tell me was the battery pack that was purchased with fridge is on back order and no telling when I will receive it! Would have been nice to know before my up coming trip that I planned to use it on.

Purchased this to have a larger capacity unit for our annual road trip of the western US. We have an AB15 but I wanted a larger fridge to store our drinks, snacks and sandwiches in. It’s always nice to have a cold beverage handy. It also works well for our grocery runs when we are home to keep ice cream frozen and cold items cold. It is 50 miles one way when we go shopping. I use a portable power bank to keep the unit operating when the vehicle is off. Worked well on our trip even during the hottest days and maintained temperature and the power bank kept the unit operating throughout the night. Very happy with this unit.

I have to admit I was a little skeptical regarding the durability of this fridge for the price. I know SetPower is a reputable brand, but didn’t think it would be this great! Let me tell you, this is an amazing travel/overlanding fridge. Super easy to use, and keeps food nice and cold, even using my Jackery 300 to power it all day. I love the ability to change which way the lid opens. I highly recommend this for your next adventure!

I almost did not purchase because the much more expensive brands claim to be 10db quieter. I can barely hear that this fridge is on. Now, I suspect the noise level would be an issue if you are sleeping next to it inside of a vehicle, but for a backseat or truck bed install, I am very happy with how quiet this unit runs. Also, cooled my drinks to 37 degrees very quickly in a hot truck bed on an 85 degree day. I am very happy with this purchase.

I’ve had the MC20 for almost a week. So far it has worked perfectly. I used it inside the house for a couple of days at 26*F. It was packed with several water bottles, sports drinks and beer cans. Using a digital thermometer, it showed it maintaining that temp easily.

On Friday evening, I placed the MC20 in the trunk of my car with a digital thermometer inside the fridge and one inside the trunk. I had it set to the same 26*F. It had the same contents as when tested inside the house. It maintained that temp throughout the weekend.

Inside the trunk, I powered it with a new 100ah LifePO4 battery. The battery lasted from Friday evening to Monday afternoon. At this point in time, the battery was down to about 2% or so.

So far great. We have used it as a cooler on our Patio in New Mexico 90 degrees outside ice cold drinks in side. In the garage as. Ice pack holder

Traded out my inefficient 3 way refer for the FC 20 on a slide in my NuCamp 320 trailer. Works great and uses minimal power. I can also easily remove it and use it for day trips in my Jeep Rubicon. Plant to ad a second one permanently in the Jeep so I can use one for a freezer and one for a fridge.

Me and my husband both drive trucks and we wanted one to sit beside our seat and have cold water all day love it . Set power is the only ones I trust . The igloos don’t work or last long . Thank you for the two we purchased plus you can sit stuff on top lol .

Ordered and received the Budget Setpower 15.8/21Qt FC15 Portable 12V Refrigerator for 119.00, wow. Here are some numbers for 12v consumption. 88 degrees outside. Fridge when powered on read 75 degrees internal, set it for 39 degrees. 13v, 3.5A, 45.5W while first powered on to cool down. 36WH, 2.79AH to cool to 32 degrees, it overshot, no biggie. The first 15 minutes went from 75 to 59 degrees, then I got sidetracked. From the numbers it is on par with my two Dometic's for consumption, which I call good. The include accessories are metal not plastic, the umbrella holder, the drink holder and the bottle opener.

For the price I thought why not. I thought it would be way too small but is perfect for a day trip. Inside temp is accurate and build quality is descent. I did a bit of a torture test. I put the fridge outside in 92 degree heat, in the shade of course. I set the temp to 30F and it would only get to 40F. It was on concrete so I put some blocks under the fridge and it did get to 30F. I decided to test it further and set the temp to 20F but only got to 25F. That’s good enough for me. I had it connected to a 600W Solar generator with a 100W solar panel and this will run forever with much juice to spare. Wish I got the AC adapter at purchase because it was a $10 add on, now it's almost $30 after the sale.

The cooler is everything it’s advertised. Super cool in a very short period of time. The perfect traveling wine cooler for Southern California. Excellent choice.

Purchased this for a 4 day cabin stay and mistakenly forgot to bring the 120v wall cord, so had to rely on just the car cord to occasionally run the unit during our drive to/from the days activities. We were pleasantly surprised to experience the unit only losing 6-8 degrees overnight before our first day. overall we were able to keep the temp between 34 and 47 while running it only during our car rides and an occasional top off at the end of the day. The insulation must be designed well and the cool down period does not take very long. We love that we can quickly see the temperature inside the unit without opening it! We are very pleased with our purchase!

Defective AC adapter and tech support cannot provide a replacement

I was super impressed at how quickly this cooled from 77 degrees (temp when I first plugged it in) down to 30 degrees. Only took about 20 or 30 minutes. Very quiet operation and maintains temp for a long time after power is disconnected.

I should have bought the battery pack when I order the fridge, but my budget at the time said I had to wait but I will be getting one in the future. The battery pack will make this even more useful.
