Summer is a great time for camping with friends and family to enjoy nature's beauty and rejuvenate. If you're planning a camping trip but don't know where to begin, here are some tips that will hopefully make your first few camping trips a lot easier.

  • Types of camping
Before you begin to plan your adventure, you would want to think about which type of camping would best suit you. Here are a few popular types of camping to consider:

- Tent: The most common type of camping where you will be setting up a tent on the ground. These campsites will have convenient amenities such as restrooms, running water, electricity, and more depending on the location.

- Car, RV, or Trailer: Another popular type of camping where you would drive to the campgrounds and park your car directly at the campsite for easy loading and unloading. You can pack an air mattress in your vehicle to sleep in or sleep in your vehicle seats. These campsites also have the typical convenient amenities.

- Glamping: Known as glamorous camping. If you're not the outdoor type of person, glamping may be just the right type of camping for you. You can feel the cleanliness and comfort as if you were in a hotel. You would have more amenities such as a kitchenette, bed, shower, and more.

  • Pick a camping location
There are many camping locations you can choose from and picking a location that will fit you best is also key. Consider the distance you want to travel, the amenities, and the activities. National and state locations are very popular but take into account when you plan to go camping.

  • Plan ahead
Planning ahead is very important if you're looking into popular campgrounds. These campgrounds will require reservations and they will be booked many months in advance. Consider the month you're planning and the weather. Are you planning to camp on a holiday weekend? If so, you can expect a lot of traffic and crowds. Plan your meals beforehand and what you'll need to bring. Have a checklist beforehand of all the essentials including a first-aid kit.
